Ectoline Pour-On

• ECTOLINE® POUR-ON is an insecticide and acaricide product developed by Merial, whose active ingredient is fipronil, a phenylpyrazole derivative.

• Because ECTOLINE® POUR-ON is a new compound unrelated to existing ones, it controls external parasites resistant to other molecules such as pyrethroids, organophosphates, and amidines.

• Due to its formulation, when applied to the back of animals, ECTOLINE® POUR-ON is perfectly distributed throughout the skin and hair because of its affinity for sebaceous glands and their secretions, and it identifies treated animals by coloring their coat red for 3 to 5 days.

• ECTOLINE® POUR-ON is indicated for the treatment and control of the following external bovine parasites:

• Ticks (Riphicephalus [Boophilus] microplus)
• Horn Fly (Haematobia irritans)
• Biting Lice (Damalinia bovis)
• Sucking Lice (Linognatus vituli)
• Nodular Myiasis (Dermatobia hominis)

Formula: Each 1 mL contains:
Fipronil 10 mg
Excipient, q.s.p. 1 mL

Characteristics:

Dosage and Administration:

• The recommended dose is 1 mL per 10 kg of live weight, corresponding to 1 mg of fipronil per kg.

• Apply ECTOLINE® POUR-ON topically along the backline from the withers to the base of the tail.

• For optimal results, ECTOLINE® POUR-ON should be applied to all animals in the herd as part of a planned external parasite control program.

• The treatment interval can be at least 2 months but will depend on the severity of the infestation, environmental conditions, and ranch conditions.

• Consult your veterinarian or local entomologist to determine the most appropriate time for treatment.

Precautions:

• ECTOLINE® POUR-ON is for exclusive use in beef cattle. Do not slaughter animals whose meat is intended for human consumption until 100 days after the last treatment. Do not administer to cattle whose milk is intended for human consumption.

• Keep the product stored in a cool place, protected from light, away from food and medicines, and out of reach of children.

• Avoid contaminating water sources such as rivers, streams, etc.
