MAX-Iron 20%

Max Iron 20% is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia, nutritional anemias, and parasitic anemias. It is a stimulant and fortifier for animals exposed to intense and prolonged exertion. Vitamin B12 aids in red blood cell production.

FORMULA: Each 1 ml contains:
Elemental iron as ferric hydroxide in combination with dextran ......... 200 mg
Vitamin B12 ............................................................................................................. 150 mcg
Excipient q.s. ........................................................................................................... 1 ml

DOSAGE: 
- Cattle (beef and dairy): 1 ml / 100 kg of body weight in a single dose.
- Horses: 10 ml, before each exposure to intense exertion, in a single dose.
Lambs, Kids, and Calves: 0.6 ml / 5 kg of body weight (equivalent to 130 mg of iron dextran and 97.5 mcg of vitamin B12), in a single dose.
Canines and Felines: 1 ml / 10 kg of body weight, in a single dose.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTE:
Deep intramuscular.

STORAGE:
- Keep in a cool, dry place.
- Protect from direct sunlight.
- Dispose of by incineration.

WARNINGS:
- Keep out of reach of children and domestic animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: 
- Do not apply subcutaneously, as it causes pain and skin discoloration, and can lead to infection.
- Do not administer more than 10 ml at the injection site.
- Do not apply to animals with hypersensitivity to iron dextran, infectious anemias, and vitamin E and selenium deficiency.
- Should not be used in animals with acute kidney infections, or in conjunction with oral iron supplements.
